I bought this new, in about 1989 and used it for 2 or 3 years until I got the Technics mixing bug. It has been packed away carefully in dry storage for 20 odd years now, until I unearthed it a couple of months ago. Its not in its original box (not sure where that went, but vaguely remember a row with a distant ex over it !!) but it's been kept, part disassembled, in the original moulded polystyrene inner casing it came in.

Its fitted with its original Ariston arm with a Goldring G820 cartridge and is in immaculate condition. I've checked it over, fitted a brand new belt and had it running and it works well and sounds excellent. Its lid is in shiney A1 condition and pretty much scratch free. It also has it's original rubber mat and screw on spindle record clamp. One thing that is missing is the anti-skate counterweight thingy ?? (basically a weight on a bit of string) I lost this when it was quite new and improvised using a small washer and bit of fishing line, which worked great.

I'm all digital nowadays and have a Techie 1210 anyway. So this is up for sale and will be going on ebay at the weekend.

So I'm offering it first to any AOS members who might be interested in this great deck. I reckon in this condition, complete with arm and cartridge it's got to be worth £185 delivered (within uk) If anyone's interested, pm me

Cheers, Steve

Nice turntable. Makes a change from the almost inevitable used ProJect or Rega for the money (probably better made too).

This arrived today and even with a quick set up and no fine tuning it is sounding very nice indeed. My vinyl playing days are back. (Now, what am I going to do with my sad GL75?). Thanks Steve for an easy sale and lots of help.

My first 'bought myself' turntable, after the Dual my uncle gave to me, was an Ariston RD11 Superior.
It had a DC motor, not AC, and had a fantastic judder/wobble when slowing to a stop!!!
Sold it to buy my Townsend Rock...

Why sad, what's up with it? There's nothing on a GL75 that can't be sorted out (once you replace the crap arm) (expect I'll get loads of flack now, but it is crap).

Sad because I've not looked after it properly so it doesn't sound/play to its full potential.

If you're just a bit handy these are easy to sort out. Have a bash. If it's knackered, what have you got to lose? The 75 is an extremely good TT with the right base and arm!

Well, yes, my plan is to use it to learn how to get handy. A good deck to work out how these things work in general. And, hopefully have a fixed and decent tt at the end of it. We'll see.

I've rebuilt a number of Lenco TTs. If you want any advice just give me a shout.

I will. Thanks.
I should point out that I'm starting from a zero base - not handy at all! It'll be awhile before I properly get into really mucking about with it.
