Koetsu Black Goldline

For sale, this cartridge is in excellent condition, bought new by me a couple of years ago from Emporium Kent. Since then it has played 526 sides (yes, I keep a tally!), so has less than 250 hours on it. Koetsu cartridges are famously long-lived, with plenty of owners claiming 3000+ hours of use from an original stylus, so plenty of use still to be had! There is a lot written about the Black on the 'net, but mostly this refers to vintage examples (see link below for a review of the current cartridge). For instance, there is much talk of prefering a heavy arm, but the modern 'Goldline' version is actually now designed for 'standard' arms ... and I have used it with good results on 9 inch Audio-Note and SME IV arms, as well as a heavier SME M2-12R. Of course, it has the famous Koetsu gorgeous mid-range and 'body', but is also nicely detailed. Vocals, in particular, are stunning, and IMO this cartridge steers a 'middle way' between the modern 'hi-fi' presentation and the overly-lush 'vintage' approach. I have thoughly enjoyed this cartridge ... selling due to upgraditis :rolleyes:

Specification: output = 0.4mV; coil resistance = 5 ohms; recommended loading >30 ohms; weight = 10.8 grammes; VTF = 1.8-2.0 grammes.
