What an awesome place!!

Interesting choice of T/T… Wonder why they chose a ‘DJ deck’, lol? Next time I’m in or near London, I’ll defo check the place out.

I'm usually in the The Mercant's Tavern at least one a month as one of the offices I have meetings at is only 50m away. :D

Food & drink is very good there so as well

This is all very interesting… One wonders why such establishments would use that equipment if it didn’t deliver the goods? In that respect, it’s rather heartening to see modded Techies, especially, used outside of the specialist audio arena (e.g. by users on forums such as this).

It proves that word is getting out! :)

I'm impressed.

No mention of what cartridges are used in the Techies. Bozak is good stuff, US company that's been going for generations.

I'd imagine that by 'club' standards it all sound bloody marvellous.

I suspect that even by hi-fi standards, Geoff, it wouldn’t be too shabby… The interesting thing for me is the fitting of expensive arms on the Techies. If simply a ‘club sound’ was sought, then stock Techies fitted with Stanton 500s, for example, would have sufficed.

The fact that that’s not the case suggests the owner(s) are both discerning and, more importantly for me, recognise the Techincs as being worthy of modifying as a high-end turntable.

Nothing unusual there, although up until now, I’d thought that only folks like us (from the extreme specialist area of audio) were interested in doing such things - and so more mainstream interest in that area is most encouraging, as it shows that the message (just how good a judiciously modded Techy sounds) is getting out there into the public domain :)

That, I'd say, is bound to be the case. The choice of those Tannoys is inspired. I've heard a quartet of 15" Lancasters (years ago) used as the main speakers in a club and it was superb.
