I think I allows you to do a lot more, quicker and more reliably. Always have the same number so no refreshes etc. It wouldnt mean that it is private though.

Also remember from the perspective of a ISP a dynamic ip address is no less attached to your router than a static one. They will be aware which router has which address at any time (if they want to) as its the ISP that hands out the dynamic addresses.

Thanks chaps, wondered if (like most things online) it was open to interpretation...and it is.
No specific reason for asking, just an interesting "what if".

Nope - don't think that would fall under a definition of personally identifiable data.
