A quick question for the "collective"!! Now, do quadrophonic format vinyl Lp's sound any better on a regular turntable or do you need to have a Decoder to get the most out of them??

I'd say no. I did have some seventies Quadrophonic albums and could not hear any difference. Mind you I didn't try a Shibata tipped cartridge, but then without the decoder I doubt anything usable would be coming through and even if it did a stereo system would not have shown the difference.

(I reckon you'll be given loads of opinions on this and yes I know there were QS and SQ as well as JVC Discrete, etc.)
