Hi guys, due to buying a pair of Harbeth P3s last week these JRs are now up for sale.

The work perfectly and are in very good condition indeed, I would say near mint but not quite as they are a good 35 years old now.

I've owned the speakers since April 2013 and have the purchase receipt which will be included too.

The tops are in fantastic condition and so too are the foams which aren't original I believe, there is some paint on the bottom covers and one of the speakers bottom securing nut at the crossover is a bit twisted but that doesn't affect the speakers in any way whatsoever.

The speakers are gold logo mark ones with a fast blow fuse in the crossover of each speaker, there's more info at the link at the bottom regarding versions of the speakers & etc

The wall stands are also near mint and very functional and quite rare I believe.

I'll include the speaker cable and banana plugs to get the new owner started but the 24" stands that the speakers are sitting on in the photos are not part of the sale as they don't belong to me.

There are no original boxes for these but I am prepared to send them to a UK postcode and also happy to post worldwide however international buys should get in touch for a price to post them.

I'm looking at £375 delivered for these to a UK postcode.

Payment by cash on collection from Glasgow at £350 or for other buyers I'm happy to accept payment by BT, PPG or personal cheque.

Any questions/offers etc them please PM me.

Thanks

Tony

Very good speakers these, and in good nick. The one you see on ebay are usually knackered. ...are these 8 ohm Tony?

Tell me about it Grant, tried a pair from ebay back in 2007'ish,
got them sent and one of the bass units was fused solid through years kept in a cold damp loft,
didn't have the heart to give negative feedback as he was nice old guy and accommodating regarding the deal,
sold the good bass unit and the pair of tweeters at a lost.

Forward 1year or so, bought a pair of Ditton 44, thought it sounded dull when the old guy selling play radio through them via a mini system,
thought it was the systems fault, got them home only to find the tweeters were gubbed,:doh:
i am through with so called vintage speakers.

Bump for seller, heard these and they are indeed tops.

I also have a pair of JR149's and am very happy with them hooked up to a NetAudio modded Quad 33/303.

I have stripped and French polished the top and bottom discs, fitted "pukka" ribbed foams and upgraded MK IV crossovers.
Piccies at http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?15900-System-2&highlight=worrasf+jr149 before I fitted the ribbed foams

Before fitting the MK IV crossovers I recapped the originals with the Falcon kit http://www.falconacoustics.co.uk/replacement-capacitor-sets/jr149-jr-149-jr150-150-ab1-capacitors-replacement-kit.html

There is a really helpful guy who occasionally advertises on eBay where I got the foams and crossovers.

Here is a link to my previous post on these with photie - it's actually a Type 24 XO not a Mk IV as per my earlier post

http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?16614-External-crossovers-any-improvement-in-SQ&highlight=jr149

My post #15 in the thread shows a photie of the XO in situ and the ribbed foams as well as my thoughts on the SQ compared to the MK 1 XO.
