The Kelvin Labs AZ1 pre - Anybody know it / used it ?

Good or Bad ?

Info on it is VERY thin on the ground so any informed opinions welcomed.

As a company, they weren't around for long. I remember we had a pre/power and an integrated to try out but the power-amp and integrated were both unstable into our long run of speaker cable in the demo room. They both buzzed and got very hot. The designer wasn't helpful, so we passed. Never got to assess the pre.

Judging by the fact that nobody seems to have owned, used or heard them, it's no wonder they weren't around for long :/

Got a feeling, they were made (briefly) by the people who made AVI amps.

Maybe that's the man.

When I complained about the Kelvin power-amp buzzing like a box of bees into our long run of speaker cable, he told me to run short lengths of cable and turn the whole demo room back to front. That, despite all other amps working perfectly in the same room..:doh:
