Alan Maher is a bit of an R&D maniac for mains treatment and filtering, with a subscription following. The approach is mostly towards PFC (power Factor Correction) and EMI/RFI treatment. These Node Busters are meant to be DIY filters that go into a component on the AC leads either before or after the transformer. Can try just Neutral after the transformer, or Earth & Neutral before the transformer, or all three leads including Live. Some have also used this on the leads in the wall behind the mains socket. BTW: they are NOT ferrite, but use some sort of nano-tube technology and don't seem affect dynamics when I played with them.

Each is about 40mm long and slides over a wire up to 3.5mm diameter. On my wires, that is 2.5mm2 plus insulation.

AMD usually sells these in sets of 4 (don't know why) using fairly expensive postage options. I have 8 and can sell a pair for £20 or a set of 4 for £30.
