Does anybody have any experience of this pre-amp?
One has just come up for sale locally, and it seems perfect for my needs. I was just wondering if there is any feedback from real world users.

Looks ideal, though not had any experience with it.
What is the input impedance of the Proprius mono blocks?

I can't seem to find it specified anywhere,

 Alan

I have dropped the question. On the GSP forum.
If I get a response, I will let you know.

Apparently

It's 47k impedance on balanced i.e. phase to phase across pins 2 and 3. Either phase to ground is 23k5.

That's going to be a little bit low for some valve based preamps, depending on the circuit configuration of course.

Just a heads up for you,

Thanks Alan.
So the PR1 could work out best.

I've got the Pre1/MB100s combo and think it sounds great with the ATC 7s I recently borrowed and am sure they'll work just as well, if not better, with the ATC 11s that should arrive on Tuesday.

Last week I took them on a mini-demo tour of Glasgow and the results were quite surprising.

Demo 1: AVA digital streaming into ART speakers and the owner thought there were no losses compared to his Naim 252/300 combo and, has since contacted Teddy with a view to buying the Pre1/MB100 combo!

Demo 2: LP12 into Martin Logan Vista speakers and it wasn't at all good compared to his Nait XS/ Teddycap combo. This demo took place in a small room and it did seem like there was too much sound for the room to accommodate; it might also be his current combo was a better match for his speakers and room size.

I'm about to go to a 4.0 setup and the the only reason I envisage selling my TP combo is if I need to free up shelf space and and would consider replacing the combo with a TP i80a, but have no intentions whatsoever to replace my amp with anything else.
