I've just read an interesting article about the Tonbridge Audio Jumble. It sounds great, but the thought of a circumnavigation the M25 is not at all attractive (I'm not sure I have all the required tide timetables).

Is there an audio jumble event that wouldn't require me to strap myself into my oil skins?

I found this conversation:

and wondered is anything has moved on from then.

I'd love to see one being held at http://www.nationalmotorcyclemuseum.co.uk/, which already hosts large computer equipment jumbles.

The Tonbridge do is good fun. I've always found plenty to look at and waste money on. There is actually a fair bit of pretty good stuff there and a surprising amount of rare gear.

No doubt a few of the usual suspects from AOS visit as well as me (we should wear AOS badges).

Ah yes, the thread where the northerners whinge about travelling down south to Tonbridge. :D

Although I might be mistaken, I can't find any threads where southerners whinge about travelling up nothe to Scalford or Whittlebury. :hmm:

Seriously though, It's a great day out and every time I've been I've picked up some amazing bargains.

The NVCF was held at the National Motorcycle Museum on at least one occasion after it moved from the NEC, but as I recall it wasn't a successful venue. It's now settled down the road at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre every May.http://www.nvcf.org.uk/

Obviously it's not solely hi-fi but, as a result there are some real bargains to be had on occasion.

Other than this, I've been to some other jumbles but they've been very small and have gradually faded away. The Tonbridge event is THE one to go to.

Yes - it looks like a trip to Tonbridge is going to have to be made. I was looking at the rail option, and it doesn't look to bad. The only problem is that it curtails of the bringing home bargains - though I expect She who must be obeyed would welcome that.

http://www.nvcf.org.uk/ looks interesting, though no sign on an upcoming event. Hopefully something next year as Warwick would be very convenient for me.

Mike Barker, who runs it, says here http://www.forum.radios-tv.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=9273&p=96300#p96300 that it'll be May 10th 2015. The emphasis is very much on vintage though. And like any jumble sale the bargains go the early birds, who do have to pay the premium early entrance fees ...

Thank you. I'll have to add that to my diary.
