Got some new toys in the studio for the show and for a new project recording live blues direct to analog stereo the CDP-D11s are ex-BBC local radio and are in really good nick, The Revox PR99 is of all places, from Sky Sports. Went out to Turnham to pick them up today.

The Sonys are plumbed in and sound good and replace a single Denon Broadcast unit that was 2U high, it's just easier to have two CD sources. :)

very nice, Paul.

I love the PR99 R2R decks. Robust and trustworthy workhorses.

I must admit, I've often wanted to try the Sony rack mount cd players. How do those sound? Do they have Coax out?

Hi Joe,

They have XLR switchable between +4 and -10dB, RCA, Spdif and Toslink so very flexible. They also have a remote bus which is contolable from the Sony broadcast mixer I have in store till we move studios. Sound is more dynamic than the Denon

Looks like a '99BV' . I still prefer the 'PR99' in silver. Great machines tho
