Hi All,

Name's Les and I have enjoyed reading many of the threads on here.

Over the years , I have had access to a few pieces of equipment that lifted the veil, as it were, between the media and the ear. So I have heard a few extraordinary Quad Systems one beautiful system with a Linn Sondek, Linn Kans and an old Sugden A48 (Which I still have, although currently dead) However never had the money to buy the gear for myself.
At the moment I am trying to obtain the best I can, still on a limited budget -Arcam CD player, Cyrus Straightline amp, MA Bronze speakers. Play mostly Flac files from PC via a Behringer (£23) DAC. Recently purchased Asynch1 from Stan Beresford (thanks Stan for the great service) with a view to getting my hands on a Bushmaster II eventually to get rid of the Behringer thing. Hopefully once that component's in place I'll have something I can actually start to hear again.

I would be interested to hear any opinions on the difference the Bushmaster might make to my 'system'

As far as musical taste goes...pretty eclectic really, a fairly extensive collection of Deutsche Grammophon CDs + FLACs all the way through to Funk, Rock, folk and in electronica in similar formats.

Thanks guys, Once I get the BMII I will post pics - at the moment there really isn't much to look at and the sound is impossibly muddy all over. I rarely use the Arcam CD player these days, despite the fact it does sound a whole lot better as the DAC is by-passed.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.Especially Paul, thank you for the kind offer. I believe matters are in hand and I should be able to hear how it sounds first-hand as it were, by next weekend. Hopefully I won't scare the neighbors too badly. In the meantime, keep your ears peeled!

Hi again guys,

Well I have been in possession of a Bushman MkII for just over a week now.
I'll recap...Previously loads of nice FLAC files ripped from my CDs (trying to save living space\the wife's wrath). Playing them through the sound system via one of those wee Behringer UCA202 DACs. It worked but, the audio deprecation was profound (compared to the CD played via Arcam player, not a long term option due to the space). There was very little real pleasure sitting listening to my digitally archived collection. I mean you could hear the intent, what was implied but very poor in the actual rendition/presentation.

Now I have one of Stan's Async-1 being fed from the PC via USB which in turn feeds the BushmasterII via coax. The line-outs to the Cyrus and into MA Bronze speakers.

The difference is profound! It sounds absolutely fan-f***ing-tastic. All of the reports from this forum regarding the quality of the audio presentation from setup described above are, to my ear, true.

So thanks for all of the help and encouragement. I suspect this is the start rather than the end
