FS - Technics CD Players (2nr)

As part of my continued clear out I have here for sale, two excellent Technics SL-490PG CD Players. Both in great condition, all working as it should, complete with remote controls.

These use the tried and tested (excellent) MASH one bit x 16 D/A converter and the circuit in these is almost identical to that supplied in the high end French Atoll CDPs (main difference is that the Atoll uses a larger power supply).

CDP #1 comes as factory standard complete with a decent headphone head amp (and volume control) so you can use this without an amp as a stand alone headphone player.

CDP#2 SOLD
Both sound excellent for what they are and have seen off much more expensive players in my system (as some can attest to who've heard these).

I am after £40 for CDP #1



Delivery to anywhere in the UK is £15 via UPS courier or pick up locally.

pardon my ignorance but what is a nos conversion? new old stock? how much better does the upgraded one sound?

As Andre says..it's a Non Oversampling conversion which is meant to make the player sound smoother, more analogue if you like. The improvement in bass and tone over the standard one is quite marked; that's quite some feat as the standard one is an excellent player to begin with.

I owned one of these for a while until some git broke into my house and stole it, an Aura Evolution II VA100 integrated amp and a pair of Eltax Liberty 3 speakers. The Techy is a good'un and no mistake ;)

Still available. Is no-one going to take this off my hands for £40? It really does punch above it's weight and is a great sounding player...remote included. Ebay beckons if not sold. They regularly fetch £50 plus for decent examples on there...

Always a way dude was interesting was playing about with the Denon DCD 835 when i noticed that the sound was suspiciously to the left and not in the "middle" tried on 2 different amps and its the same lucky its not the amps as the would be :nono: although both are fine on my Pioneer SP. Any thought on what it could be?
