Ongoing attack on Canadian parliament buildings

My sympathy and prayers go out to the Canadian people, the family of those who have been shot and I hope any of our Canadian members are ok, during this ongoing incident in Ottawa.

For those that don't know there is an ongoing terrorist attack on the Canadian parliament building after shots were fired at the nearby War Memorial and armed men stormed the parliament building.

Terrible incident.

Update incident spreading now reports of shooting in a hotel in Ottawa

Further update one terrorist shot dead.

Apparently terrorist are now shooting at emergency teams, police etc from the roof of the parliament building.

Edit nearby University also now on lock down.

That is the gist of the speculation but its too early to say clearly but apparently there was an incident two days ago where a convert used his car as a weapon against soldiers in Canada - no mention of that in our news, that I can recall.

Latest news is that three gunman are involved at various locations in downtown Ottawa. It is being reported there could be as many as three gunman involved. If true it appears that this may be a coordinated attack. One witness called Alain described witnessing a single gunman pulling up out front of the parliament building in a red car. He then exited the vehicle with a 'long gun' and then he ran into the building through the main entrance and began shooting. He also reported that guards at this location are routinely unarmed. One gunman has been shot and killed within the parliament building by head of security, the sergeant at arms.
