I bought my current place about 6 years ago and I was looking at some old pictures from when i first moved in. I guess my tastes have changed a bit in the last 6 years.
This is what I started out with.

After acquiring the matched set of Heathkit pro gear and modifying a suitable audio rack it came more to life and looked better. At that point, I was still using the Sansui TU-555 tuner as I couldn't find the Heathkit match. I did eventually, and still have it, though I don't use it.

I wasn't impressed with the synergy as the Cornwalls didn't seem to mate very well with the 250 watts per channel of the Heathkit AA-1800, so I opted for a set of Monitor Audio Silver 9i. Plenty of headroom, but still a bit much for my living room, and too bright for my laid back taste.

I decided to hook up the TD-145 to the system. I believe I was using the Ortofon M20FL Super at the time and it sounded pretty good, but I don't think the AP-1800 amp had the best phono stage. I have removed the Thorens and sold it, as I like my Harman Kardon T-60 better. It seems to be a lot quieter mechanically as well as having a lower electronic noise floor. I keep it upstairs, so it isn't pictured.

This is what I ended up with. I will probably modernize it a bit in the next year. I plan to go full separates instead of the MA-6100 pre. I love the MR-74, but will probably wind up changing to the later stile McIntosh knobs and get something like a C-33 or C34v and mate it with an MC-2205 amplifier or similar.
