Hello,
Just a quick introduction from me. Musical tastes are fairly broad ranging: everything from older Jazz through to Metallica. Not much Classical though but I keep 'trying' occasionally. Most likely to slap on some Counting Crows or Tom Petty after a hard day's work and then migrate into Agnes Obel or John Grant later on in the evening.
My first system was one of those all in one stacking record players with the amp and speakers built in...it rocked until took it apart attempting to make it stereo! I progressed through some TDL RTL floor standers, Castle Harlechs and now I have a beautiful pair of ART Alnico Signature. These are powered up by Macintosh amplification (although I'm thinking of a change here soon).
The source end is completely digital (all my LPs are in the loft) and very much in-progress DIY. The DAC is based around the Twisted Pear Bufallo IIIse running in dual mono and the source is a heavily tweaked and bodged PC. I love the way I can move around the genres without leaving my seat - but it does mean that the discipline of experiencing an entire album is difficult to stick to!
