Looking for a push pull valve power amp or monoblocks over 50 watts.

Was wondering what's out there?. This is to drive some Magnepans. I could do the mid/tweeter alone with 50 watts or so but need about 80+ to drive the whole speakers.

Max price to spend is around £1300 but i'd much rather keep it well under £1000 if possible.

Sort of thing I am looking for is:

Old Lumleys (M100, M150, M75)

Grant G100AS or G100AMS monoblocks.

Beard P100 or similar

Art Audio Concerto, Concerto/Opus monoblocks or Maestro monoblocks

Audio innovations series 1000 monoblocks (would prefer mk2 or mk3)

Ear 509 monoblocks
Michelson & Austin TVA1

Or anything similar. Don't want anything Chinese! (Done that before!)

Not really interested in AR tube amps as I want a more valvey sound.

I've got a Beard BB100 serviced recently sounding mighty fine... looking absolutely superb. It drove Martin Logan Aerius for years and is good with 4Ohm loads.

It is in Bristol, though. And it is an integrated. PM if interested.

Sounds v nice.
Really looking for a power amp though I want to biamp or possibly triamp. Will certainly bear this amp in mind though. There might be a way of bypassing the preamp stage/pot but I am not too technical!

Cheers
Colin

That's OK I was planning on lending it to someone anyway to see if they like it.

Its been in the classifieds and bumped a few times. Not much interest. Odd thing is I reckon it is bloody fantastic. I must be mistaken:doh:

Yeah that's a bit weird Beards have a great reputation. I'd be v interested if it was a power amp.

Just select one of the inputs, turn the volume/gain control to maximum and it is a power amp, simples :eyebrows:

Sounds ideal to me.

I have a much improved TVA1 for sale. So i might be able to help. But I do not want to sell for less than a 1000. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks for offering Jeff. I'm going for a Beard P100, so I'll see how I get on with that. Might get back to you regarding the TVA1 later (if you still have it).
