Hello Everyone,
Just to introduce myself, I am an avid audio and music enthusiast and have been for many years now, music is hugely important in my life I rarely go a day without listening to at least one album.

I've been a Garrard addict for several years now, I was given my 1st 401 from my grandfather in the mid 70s: as far as I know he bought this deck new in 1969, I used this deck up to 1980 then sold it to buy a new fancy J V C direct drive.

In 1983-4 I got into the C/D thing but kept all my vinyl boxed up in the spear room for many years, (so glad I did) anyway to make a very long storey short I wanted to get back into vinyl and in 2003 I had the chance to buy a 401 with a SME 3009 from a friend of a friend. The 401 sounds so much better than that J V C ever did and has given me 11 years of good service.

I really love the enthusiasm of the management and crowd here in this forum thanks for creating it!
Keep up the good work
Steve.

Welcome Steve; Hope you enjoy the site. The 401 is a great deck and I wish I had one myself. What kind of music do you prefer?

Hi Steve. Welcome to AOS.

Where have you been hiding. Looks like you joined five years ago! :)

Tell us about the rest of your system and what music you play.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Hello to you all and thank you for your warm welcome, yes I did join up 5 years ago but before I could put pen to paper or finger on button my work took me abroad, now that I am back in the UK and slowing my work load down I thought it was time to come back here and say Hi, Lol.

At this time my Hi-Fi system is:
Garrard 401 Turntable
SME 3009 Tone arm
Golding 1042 Cartridge
Graham Slee Era Gold V phono Amp
Arcam FMJ 37 Cd player
Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista M3 Amp
Harbeth 30.1 speakers
Something Solid speaker stands
Atlas interconnects & speaker cable.

I love and have all sorts of music, from classical to rock n roll with some doo-wop, soul, reggae, folk, blues, jazz, Pink Floyd, and some northern soul mixed in as well.

Kind Regards
Steve.

Welcome to AoS Steve.

That's a nice system you've got there and nice taste in music too. :)
