View Full Version : KEF Calinda Speakers, near mint, rebuilt xovers, £50 collected
I still have these lovely KEF Calinda lying around if anyone is interested. Drivers are perfect and the crossovers have been professionally re-built to original spec. Cabs are perfect except for a few slight marks on the tops. Grilles are in perfect condition. I'm asking just £50 collected from Stoke on Trent. The drivers alone worth twice that. More pics on request.

Will the procceeds go to filling up the empty decantor?
At my current rate of consumption it will keep me in Guinness for ten nights. Not sure if you should decant Guinness, though...
FUGGIN GREAT BARGAIN PRICE - and from memory I'd suggest some lowish stands to finish them off - to try to get the tweeter at ear level.
I reckon these could sound really great with some thought in siting and stands :) The raw ingredients are good still! Hey, even the tweeters are being re-made having been re-imagined/designed by the chap who designed the things originally and available from Falcon I believe. Now, if only the B200 could be re-tooled (I think Harbeth have disposed of the tooling they bought from KEF some years ago)

Why not keep them Martin i always thought they sounded good?
Yes I am pretty much giving them away although you have to take the cost of coming to collect them into account. My room is just too large for them. They might as well go to a good home where they will get some use. They do have little rubber feet on the bottom to separate them from the floor or from the top plate of a low stand. I doubt that there are any out there in better condition, particularly as the crossovers on these are pretty much brand new.

cross posts :) They do sound good but as above my room is too large for them, plus I prefer my Akais and I only need one set of speakers.

Definitely a serious bargain. I'd have them if I was nearer.

No doubt Martin will say that after the Akais , all else is lamplight, to use the immortal words of one Herbert Von Daniken.
I'm just having a listen to these speakers as got a member coming over to collect them today. I've made a few changes to my set up since I last tried them and holy shit they are sounding good. I'm thinking I'm a bit mad to be selling them for just fifty quid but hey! too late now.
Still not as good as the Akais though...;)

 yeh ok
Okay then I prefer the Akai. Two quite different 'speaker designs, after all.
Buyer hasn't shown up or contacted me, looks like I might be keeping them anyway....
Sold. After 3 years...
Just been to hear them in their new home. Driven by an AR03 amp which I threw in with them, not working but was just a couple of dry joints, now fixed and cleaned up. All I can say is for fifty notes y'all missed out here. The sound was very good indeed and filled a very large room with ease.
