Hello from the USA!

Total newb here. Just recently purchased a TT to get back into vinyl.

I have a deep love for classical music - Vivaldi, Bach - are my favorites. Next to that anything from Mark Knopfler - especially his Dire Straits years.

My system is just an Audio-Technica TT with a crappy pyle 2x40 amplifier pushing some cheapo Warfdales.

Hoping to build my first Tub amp soon. Just don't have any idea where to start.

Wow - from Baroque to Dire Straits! That's a bit of a leap. Is there nothing in between that you like?

Can't advise you of any tube amp kits, as I don't know what you have over there in the US. We do have a lot of tube fans here, so I am sure someone will be along soon to help you out. I'm assuming you are looking for something giving you 40 watts/channel.

So you're thinking of a valve amp? You need to have an idea of what speakers you'll be using with it to decide on power output.

Loads of amp builders on here and many designs on the net. Just ask your questions, somebody will have an opinion for you.

Hello and welcome from me.Interested in valve kits, I believe the Dynaco ST 70 is popular and is well supported on your side of the pond,but with you wanting to get back into vinyl,I don't think it has a phono stage , you may want to add one of the Bottlehead valve phono stages or you could do a lot worse than going for a refurbished vintage amp like a Fisher or Sherwood with a built in phono stage.Good thing about this route is these amps used very high quality transformers [iron] which would be very expensive to buy today,just food for thought.Whichever way you go ,enjoy and keep us posted, once again welcome

Couple of months ago İ made sp14 tube pre for my system. Just supplied the PCB and PCB components. Bob Latino and Roy Mottram both assist very much.
