Dear friends,

a question to the Technics SP15 owners:
I've a problem with the EPA501's original cable, I haven't, because absent when I bought it:
the original cable has a particular original Technics plug for the tonearm, plug with three pins
(middle one for ground slightly thinner than other two).

How/where can I find these plugs for my EPA tonearm ? I tried but not found...

Thanks in advance for help.

Ciao.
Ezio

3 pins. Could you post a pic of the tonearm base where the plug goes showing pin layout?

Hi Steve,
thanks for answer!
Three pins, the lateral ones are dimensions of RCA plug, the medium one a bit smaller.
I have a picture of the plug, how can I charge it on this page?
Thanks again.

Why don't you simply use two separate RCA phono plugs for the signal channels and a 3mm(?) pin for the earth/ground connection?

Yes, It looks like a double phono plug with a single earth in the centre - interesting!

It is the same lead as shown in my interest check thread in the private sale section.

Hi Barry,
thanks for suggestion.
The center pin should be mm. 3-3,1 circa, you are right.. :-)
A friend told me he measured the pin with a gauge: lateral was 3,3 central (ground) as 3,1 mm.
Where do I can to find this "outsize", small 3mm pins?
Have you idea, links, shops..?
Thank you

I would have thought 3mm wander plugs should be easy enough to obtain: http://uk.farnell.com/belling-lee/l378a-3-black/plug-3mm/dp/317100

Failing that, you could always canibalise an old phono plug; the centre pin is 1/8" (= 3.175mm)
