Hope you find it Al. Its in Tonbridge. Not Tunbridge Wells. Tonbridge Wells doesnt exist. These 2 cause eternal confusion. Including how to pronounce them.
Tonbridge is pronounced Tunbridge (a vowel sound as in "hun" or "bun" not "on" or "song"). My father in law insists that "on" must be pronounced "on" - although appears to make an exception for Lundon (the capital city just up the road)
(we have some really wierd pronunciations in this part of Kent. Anybody not local like to have a stab at Wrotham, Meopham, or for the top prize Trottiscliffe)

Wrotham is obviously Rottum, but the locals prefer Rooot-ham for some reason.
Went to the Audio Jumble years ago, hoping for a bargain. The highlight was finding Noel Keywood from HiFi World under a trestle table ... but he wasn't for sale, apparently :lol:

Well the lads will soon be heading home with bootfuls of 'bargains', some of which may even work! :)
If I'd remembered when the Tonbridge do was on I might have organised myself to go, but I only found out yesterday when it was mentioned here. It's a few years since I last went, used to get the odd worthwhile item though.
(I remember getting a tired Systemdek with a good Mission 774 on for £200 and selling the TT for £120, so that was a mint 774 for £80. Not bad)

Home now. Had a good sale and only bought one item, but what an item - a Yamaha Centennial Series CX-10000 preamplifier which is bigger and heavier than any power amp I've owned, let alone any other preamp!
It has some electronic issues but I couldn't say no. Sadly Mrs. B was my stall helper today and she seems to think I should have said no. Let's just say the journey home was spent in a rather frosty silence...

Me, I stayed in the frozen north and acquired an Akai AM95....not in the same league, I know, but still pretty tasty. Haven't unpacked and played with it yet, will do so tomorrow.

This weekend I drove from Cornwall to Ticehurst in Kent to attend a family function, (50th wedding anniversary dinner), stayed overnight and returned today.
I could have filled my empty boot with goodies.
Hope those who went found some interesting bargains.

A few posts back Marco. We have seriously wierd pronunciations here in Kent. Meopham = Mepp-Ham. Wrotham = Root-Ham. But they are easy ones. Try guessing the pronunciation of Trottiscliffe.
Ah, I get you now. Those are names of towns near you (albeit 'phonetically adjusted' by the local pronunciation)! :eyebrows:
That, I didn’t realise before…. I thought it was merely some mad lingo or ‘in joke’ you were sharing with Andy. Bear in mind that the only time I’m ever in Kent (is it Kent?) is when I’m going down to Dover, en-route to Calais, and so that’s about the extent of my knowledge of that area ;)

Yes - the root was Al getting confused about where the jumble was - and saying it was in Tonbridge Wells, a place which doesn't exist. We have Tonbridge (where the jumble was), which is confusingly pronounced "Tun - bridge" (like London is pronounced Lun-don), and we have a Tunbridge Wells (a Royal Tunbridge Wells, to give it its proper title).
A Tun was another measure of Ton - but originally a measure of volume for wine (252 gallons) ;)

I think my table was in the wrong room as we have very little people traffic :scratch:
Started off with the dealers trying to buy cheap and ended up with the dealers trying to buy cheap , I was happy to bring most of my tat home
I did not get a chance for a quick look around as I was on my own
1st time I have EVER returned home without spending ANYTHING :scratch: and with more money than I started with
Bumped into a few faces I recognized :)
Was shattered when I returned home ;)
