Just for the fun of it, show your Beresford DAC!

Here are mine.

The 7520 I use with my iMac/AKG K701 combo in my office, the Caiman with my main system in the living room.

Let's see yours!

It sounds rather better than that!

Can't leave you on your own with this one. Here is a picture of my Beresford but I think it was taken prior to upgrading to a 7520. Not that there is a lot of difference visually!

If people are proud owners of a particular bit of kit I think its nice they want to post a few pics
Be it a couple of hundred pounds or thousands, no snobbery on here;)

Given so much about sucessful hi-fi is down to component synergy it's always interesting to see what individual components are partnered with... imvho :eyebrows:

Within 10 posts and the trolling already started. Might I remind you that this thread is about "showing your Beresford". Go cry somewhere else.

Here's my humble setup. The 7510 is disconnected as of yesterday.

Not as sophisticated as some of you here have but it works for my Caiman (and it is just out of the box). :eyebrows:

Together with:
Squeezebox
Yamaha RX-V1300
Pioneer DV-656A
Chario Syntar 200's
MJ Acoustics pro 50

What attracts me to the Beresford and some other equipment is the value for money thing; knowing I am getting most of the performance of expensive kit.
I could go on about the £10K of AV equipment I have but I get much more pleasure out of a tweak or a mod to my hifi at little cost.
I think there are a few like me on this forum so I am afraid Roob, you will have to indulge our little eccentricity. We are not going to stop.

Jerry

Do you find the replacement power supply for the Squeezebox makes a significant difference? What do you use?

I didn't realise the size of it with all those inputs - looks kinda cool if i wasn't so happy with my creek i would get one without a doudt

Thanks Puffin.
Brian, its a home made linear PSU housed in a former kitchen knife box. Personally I think it makes a big difference especially to the soundstage however there are many who say that it can do little due to the cheap internal power regulation of the SB3. I am hoping to upgrade the innards of my squeezebox so that may change soon.

Please don't think this was a dig at you - I just thought it was a very appropriate typing error.

As you say, back to the purpose of the thread, one & all!

Hi Folks,

I've tidied this thread up a bit in an effort to try and keep it 'on topic' for the OP. More pictures please! :)

Cheers...

A couple of pics of my TC-7510 which will spend its second life upstairs joint with my Trends TA-10.1 amp now that the Caiman feeds my main system downstairs. I hope they will get along. I still have to attach the external soundcard to my computer.

Hamish,

is that a photographic enlarger I can see next to the scanner? shouldn't that be behind glass in a museum somewhere :)

StanleyB

I have been trying to figure out what make the enlarger is. Looks like a Durst, but the European 2-pin plug contraption hanging over it adds to the confusion.

Spur07
08-08-2009, 21:37
I used to have nice old Durst many moons ago - those were the days! you can pick them up for tuppence on ebay now. I used to work as a hand printer in London for 6/7 years before it all went digital.

trouble is, modern scanners are so good now even when scanning negative film which never used to be the case.

it could be a durst stan, especially with that splash of blue.

or maybe LPL or Omega?

Well I am glad that I still know how to recognize photographic equipment by make:). Photography was a great hobby of mine for many decades. I even worked for BASF at one stage.
The pictures I am most proud of are the ones I took of a friend of mine and a friend of my wife's. They both saw each others picture in a pile of snaps one day, and asked to be introduced. They got married and have three kids now:).
My most beautiful picture is a wedding pic of the daughter of a neigbour. He has had it enlarged to almost window sized and it has pride of place in his living room.

I'm more interested in the TLR on the fourth shelf in the corner. Rollei or Yashica?

Here is my listening room setup - Squeezebox is feeding TC-7520 coax input 1, Sony CDP is feeding optical to input 3. USB is occasionally used from computer which is located off to the right of the kit.

Silver aluminium box is my 12V linear for the 7520.

On the top shelf we also have my AMB M³ with AMB σ11 power supply.

The Beresford TC-7520 (LM4562NA opamps) is fed by optical cable from the Panasonic DVD/HDD recorder for Freeview radio and DVD sound and (at right angles to the above photo) is my desk with my laptop (work) system connected with a 5metre USB tucked behind the shelves....
