A Second Piercing

I am thinking about a second piercing...

I currently have a piercing in the normal ear lobe area..

I am thinking where I shall make a second piercing...

I don't want it in an area that is not on show... so no naughty places for a peircing.. so what do you all think..?????

So can anyone suggest a suitable second piercing area...?

It's only that I don't want a new bit of metal... however I think it is time for a second piercing... just somewhere tastful...

I agree. Piercings are thought by some to be sexually attractive. For me I find it to be the exact opposite. Apart from piercings of the ear lobe, I am repelled by them; they give me the creeps. I simply cannot look someone in the face, if their face has been decorated with 'rivets'.

Same problem with tatoos: usually banal designs, poorly executed.

There was a time when people chose to have some form of 'body art' to be different - to stand out from the crowd. Now they do it to conform - to be part of the herd.

I have a lot of piercings, well I don't wear them anymore, but they're all trained so can put them in and out whenever. I would recommend a tragus, rook or conch piercing for something visible, but quite discrete. I have a conch piercing and scaffolding across the top of my right ear.

I guess it's kind of hard to advise, I have no idea what you look like (not that I am suggesting you post a photo of yourself). Personally I don't really care for piercings through the cartilage separating the nostrils, or piercings on the lips; I think they look like bogies from a distance.

Tattoos - I recall that it used to be only servicemen and prostitutes that had tattoos. That was generally a much better idea than what we have now. Very depressing to see young women covered in them and always really crap ones - you could get the same effect drawing on yourself with biro except that would wash off and you could have something different the next day. (Or just look normal again).

Fair enough, having huge flesh tunnels in your ears is probably not the wisest thing to do when you're young, but piercings and tattoos can be done tastefully and beautifully even if there does seem to be a fashion trend on at the moment with it all. I agree...most people who get tattoos regret it. I can understand removable ones being a bit of fun but these are permanent . as for body piercing. It really does not look good

LOL - people are free to abuse their bodies anyway they see fit (god knows I've done enough of it) but they are also free to have an opinion about it too...

Whatever people have done to themselves, its a good idea to have it easily reversable. Most of us change a little as we get older (I was going to say mature:lol:) and what might have seemed a good idea at the time.......

I find tattoos mostly unattractive but I like bodies, can't see anything wrong at all with bare unadorned flesh.

Extreme piercing I find incredibly ugly but you can do what you want with your body and pay the price - probably. Pierced ears heal up if left without something through the hole so not a problem. I'm glad I'm not young anymore as the thought of getting metalwork stuck in my teeth does not appeal in any way at all.

Fortunately, I am married to someone who doesn't use (or need to use) make up or any body decoration. She has taken to earrings of late but the clip on variety she tells me. At 62 years old, hopefully she is not about to experiment too deeply into alternative kinds of warpaint.

Personally I find tattoo's repulsive but the odd piercing can be cool on a woman, ears/nose stud/eyebrow bar & the like but no genitalia.

Men with "body art" on the other hand just look like fairground workers :D

That is not the rule though. I've a lady friend who has lots of body piercings and tattoos all over (yes even there) and she's a happy, well adjusted and very sexy woman!

My friend does Burl in London. She has a ring and pearl through her naval, bars, and other rings all around her body (yes in rude places) + some tattoo's but she looks at it as an individuality thing and for her only.

I'd suggest the naval, that's pretty cool. What I'd not suggest are those over sized rings in the lobes.

Like many here, I have a steadfastly old-fashioned attitude to tattoos and piercings (and no, I definitely don't read the Daily Mail!) and would never dream of doing such a thing. Why anyone would want to cover themselves in poorly executed renderings with all the artistic integrity of a seaside postcard but without the humour is completely beyond me.

However....

I have a neighbour (a very respectable and upright gentleman, ex merchant navy officer etc), who has a daughter who has taken this stuff to a whole new level. Not only has she tattooed herself on practically every available surface including the whites of her eyes, which are now blue, she has also removed any sign that she ever had a navel. What sets her apart in my eyes though is that she's also a talented artist, and some of her work is quite beautiful. Still weird though...

I think like much in life it all depends on how its done, to what standard but also what will float ones boat won't another.

I am not in general a big fan of skin art or piercings but I have seen images of it done well and very beautifully.

For example I think this is beautiful re skin art, influenced by a series of books by fantasy author Jacqueline Carey. Among fans I know some have actually got these done or variations on a theme.

You seem to be missing the point Mark, there is no link to Hi-Fi at all. The 'Abstract Chat' section is specifically non music and Hi-Fi and is very definitely abstract, i.e., ANY topic! If any part seems not worth reading to you, then just avoid it.
