Its been quite some time since I was a regular on this forum but my set up have changed very little in those 5 years or so, although I guess only a few people from back then are still on here?

his is the Garrard 401 in a single slate plinth that I have had for 7-8 years I guess. The arm is a Rega RB250 which I have just put some new bearings in and rewired. It used to be just bare metal but I sprayed it matt silver. I still have the Ortofon Rohmann and its doing sterling service still. Buying the Rohmann was a revelation. Not because its an expensive MC but because of the tiny, tiny stylus, it really gets deep in the groove where you don't tend to find scratches. The difference in the noise floor compared to other carts with bigger styluses is huge, much less pops and ticks.
The slate plinth is pretty heavy and dampens any vibrations that the motor may cause, but this runs very smoothly anyway. I use a bit of gear oil in the main bearing and motor bearings but everywhere else is lubricated with ACF50 Corrosion Block. every now and again I rub a little olive oil into the idler wheel and then use a little IPA to clean any from the edge that contacts the motor pulley.
I still use the WD Pre3 and Pro-ject Tube Box, they still sound pretty good to me.

The cabinet is still a work in progress but you can see the new Rega DAC inside and the old Media PC.

And now for something non-hifi...
My Pioneer SDJ05 nearfield active monitors. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but they suit the room well and are very transparent. Took a while to set up until I realised that I had to tilt them upwards. These have been a bit tweaked. The felt pads below the tweeters seem to clean up the mid range a little and the tiny foam pads on the main cones added just that little bit of extra weight and dampened some of the excited-ness that they seemed to have.
Has anyone else's system not changed much over the last 5 years or so? I can't remember what people had apart from Marco and his Techie with a Dennon 103. Not sure why I remember that, it's not as if he mentioned it much...:lol:
