Finally got a couple of photos, so time to post these and see if there's any interest.

Due to the likelyhood of a house move in about a year, it's time to start thinnning out the kit that isn't used anymore, so some of the heavier items are getting the treatment first.

I'm wondering if there's any interest in either of two RtR decks.

1. Sony TC-765. This is one of Sony's top "prosumer" decks from the '80s. Ferrite heads are near indestructable (and this one has heads in excellent condition). Sonically hard to beat for a 7.5ips machine (has two speeds). I spent a packet getting this one up to scratch, as it had been neglected a bit, though it recovered near perfect. Looking for £450, which is less than half what I have into it, but unfortunately that's the market.

2. Preco 500. This is a pro deck, former BBC kit, but in very good condition, barring the splice scratches in the faceplate. Three speeds. I paid £250 for it, and would like £250 back, though with the following additions: I'll include XLR-RCA adapters (2 each male and female), a rack trolley with casters (cost me 60 quid), and other stuff as below.

Each will include: NAB adapters, spacers, a 10.5" takeup reel, a plastic 7" takeup reel and a couple of random 7" reels of previously recorded tape (no commercial recordings). That's a lot of extras, and not what you'd normally see. I'd offer more, but I'm still keeping two RtR decks, my other TC765 and a Technics RS1506, so the tape collection isn't up for grabs yet!

Pickup only from W2 area of London - the Sony is the lightweight at 35kg. I don't have a car available at the moment, so I can't do a meet up, but something might be achievable. PM me with interest or enquiries.

Just thought I should add that I have digital copies of the user and service manuals for the Sony, but no manuals for the Preco (despite the promise of the original seller).

Could be interested in the Sony, how soon does it need to go?

No later than June next year .

I'd like to sell it as soon as possible. I doubt it'll move fast unless I undervalue it a lot, so you may be able to wait.

Those Precos were great, and with the trolley etc its almost worth driving down for if my hip could have stood it...Ive just taken out of service my Akai as I needs a little work doing...GLWS

I might add at that price its a steal.

Well, I have to be honest and hope it sells soon (a bit of extra cash for something else hi-fi), but so far it's tucked away enough that my wife isn't hounding me about it, so it may wait.

Thanks. I doubt if my hip could stand the drive North, even if I could insure the bloody car (long story). The Precos get a bit of bad press, but it's from people comparing them to Studers. If it was as good as a Studer I wouldn't be flogging it for a quarter ton!

Should add that I'll take trades, or trades plus cash either way. Interested in USB-capable DACs or a decent, flexible hi-fi rack (a Sound Org Z540 would do nicely, or something similar. Also wood racks are certainly acceptable, and on the outside chance one is surplus a Townshend Seismic rack in good nick).

Any interest out there if I can ship?

Darn it - just noted you are based in London town. Was reading the thread on Tapatalk earlier and didn't twig - my mistake - too far to drive.
Sorry but hope they sell for you.

Bumpy thing again.

I'm willing to explore shipping options for anyone who expresses serious interest. If I can sort out the issues with my effing car, other options may open up.
