Very sad to learn of the death of Christopher Hogwood at the age of 73. Hogwood founded The Academy of Ancient Music in 1973, an ensemble of musicians whose playing I have very much enjoyed.

Some years ago i attended a talk given by Christopher Hogwood on Baroque music and the progression of early keyboard instruments playing various passages on each. He was an incredible speaker who imparted his passion for his field in an entertaining and informative way.

A very sad loss RIP

Many fine recordings and will have a session in his honour later. (Currently waiting for Ibragimova/Tibetghien recital to start at Wigmore Hall. Should be good.)

Was very good. Made me realise I take Mozart for granted sometimes.
