I think The United Kingdom owes him a great debt!
We should take the initiative to regain greater control over our own lives, and remind the wankers in Westminster that they're there for our benefit, not theirs!
There are too many of them have never kept a proper job - they've gone straight from University into politics, so it's no wonder they haven't got a clue about the concerns of the common man.

The point is, the oil available to Scotland may not just be restricted to that currently in the North Sea. I think that the matter should be properly investigated, don’t you?

Dig down deep enough into any countries affairs and you are going to find the odd 'discrepancy in the books', it's a fact of life. I do hope your attitude post referendum result is not indicative of the nation as a whole or the entire country is likely to implode  Oh, and don't always believe what you see on YT without being absolutely certain of the provenance of the material. I'm better placed to understand this more than most being a UFO researcher and as such having trawled through literally thousands of hours of so called 'genuine' footage.

I think if the above claim is correct, then it’s a little more than an “odd discrepancy”, Dave! This is a very serious matter, with a HUGE amount of money at stake.

I do hope your attitude post referendum result is not indicative of the nation as a whole or the entire country is likely to implode

Well, if that’s what it takes to expose genuine corruption (if it exists), then so be it. Bring on a revolt. What are we supposed to do, roll over and accept it, like good little subservient citizens? Don’t rock the boat, eh?

Oh, and don't always believe what you see on YT without being absolutely certain of the provenance of the material.

I’m not “believing” anything. I’m simply saying that these accusations should be properly investigated, and if found true, heads should roll. Will it happen, though? Of course not, because it’ll all be swept under the carpet and covered up as usual by our corrupt government, which in reality is controlled by the banks and ‘the establishment’.

Turns out the fighting in George Square in Glasgow has not been between Yes & No voters. Unionists have turned up to riot, burning the Saltire, throwing flares, Nazi salutes, etc. Lots of English and Northern Irish accents.

They surrounded a young ‘Yes’ supporter, had her on the ground, stole her flag and tried to steal her phone!

Strange that Alex 'Wallace' Salmond (and the SNP) has accepted the result and not questioned the count or asked for anything to be investigated. Surely their 'inside' information would have jumped on this and tried to capitalise on it before falling on his sword.

Why would you ask for anything to be investigated if you thought there was no need? You’re also rather naive to think that there might not be some government cover up. Perhaps if AS saw the contents of that YouTube video, he’d think again… I agree with every word the narrator said:

“Scotland would never be allowed to depart from the United Kingdom. Do you really think the elite [read as ‘the establishment'] would allow that to happen? “No…..”

:exactly:

Accept it Marco, you lost - end of. In 6 months time you will have forgotten all about it and hope we have.

I had ‘accepted it’, until I sniffed the stench of corruption (based on evidence posted here and that which was sent to me)… Forget about Scottish Independence? Never.

Remember this: 45%, corrupted votes aside, of the people of Scotland voted FOR independence - and you’d need to be rather blinkered if you think that desire is going to be 'forgotten about' or go away anytime soon, no matter how much some of the English would like it to!! ;)

This matter is FAR from over. The Scottish people who want independence will have their day. Mark my words.

[Edit: just saw this]:

In 6 months time you will have forgotten all about it, and hope we have.

What exactly is that supposed to mean? Is it another threat, Dave, like before??

This is ridiculous, what about the 55% of SCOTTISH voters who chose to stay within the UK, does their voice not count then? Really Marco you need to read up on the mechanics of democracy. This is exactly what I feared (born out of experience). The independence question has been decided by the people of Scotland and yet not only are the majorities wishes being ignored but somehow the English are to blame. TOSH!!! Such utter puerile nonsense is an insult to both nations and all those who strove so hard to bring this vote to the people. And with that I'm out of here as I have no wish to witness this car crash unfold any further... Perhaps I should begin a thread on fascism...

Marco
19-09-2014, 22:22
This is ridiculous, what about the 55% of SCOTTISH voters who chose to stay within the UK, does their voice not count then?

That’s not what I said, Dave. Of course it does, but equally, the views of the other 45% of the electorate, who passionately wanted independence, should not be forgotten - presuming of course that all the ’No’ votes were genuine! You appear to want to bury your head in the sand and not consider the possibility of fraud.

Yes, it’s an unpalatable thought, but when it comes to the murky business of politics, not exactly unheard of!

The desire for independence amongst Scottish people is destined to grow and grow, as more of them wake up and smell the coffee that this corrupt English government, in reality, doesn’t give a monkey's toss about their best interests, and will always continue to pander to the needs of the establishment - and the longer that’s allowed to continue, the closer the day of reckoning will come.

Marco.

I think it is the minority are a great scapegoat. English are by far the majority so even if say 20 crimes are commited in their neighbourhood it is the one from the minority that sticks with them. It happens up here too, but obviously to a lesser degree. The English feel intimidated by Europe as THEY are in the minority, and thus behave badly as far as Europe sees it.

As I say, it is all about perspective. That wee battle tonight in George Sq was jst a wee old firm battle. They were getting rusty and an excuse is an excuse like as far as these guys are concerned.:eyebrows:

Indeed i'd say they are and the media are a joke.
Just not sure how a Scottish gov would be less so.
I see politicians worldwide as self serving and not just the odd specific party.
The British gov needs a real shake up but can't see how this is going to happen.
They only offer tit bits when pushed into a corner as is being shown now with the pledges made to Scotland, will be surprised if much actually materialises though.

It’s judgemental knee-jerk reactions like that which don’t do The English any favours, and what causes resentment. Sorry, Martin, but that comment was plain daft and out of order

The other point which seems to have been deliberately missed is that there were a lot of English and N. Shows you how insular and ‘up themselves’ they are then, doesn’t it? And folk wonder why that creates such gross resentment elsewhere in the UK, and especially in Scotland?

Marco.
True but I don't see why Scotland has a better case than the NE of England or even Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield or Hull.

Agreed, but the Scots have a particular abhorrence of ‘the establishment’ and anything that is deemed as divisive, snooty and elitist! ;)

[Count me in].

I don't want to argue with or offend any body and this is only my opinion
but I think it is the least he should do he betrayed Scotland. I cant decide on weather
he played to lose or just got blinded by the prospect of power and position.
Why did he persue a political campaign surely it was a constitutional referendum ,
it seemed the only choice presented to the people of Scotland was Westminster or him
and his oh so wonderful policies on the humdrum of daily life. Scotland had the western world
by the goolies and he threw it away , had they voted YES they could have done anything ,
made history , perhaps even changed the world ,who knows?. certainly they could have
done a hell of a lot more than had Salmond and Strurgen in charge and having the
Chuffin' Queen. Oh and the pound Ha they could of used any currency they liked .
cheers
Paul

Some very good points there, Paul! Btw, as much as I’m passionately all for Scottish Independence, I’m not/was never a big fan of Salmond, whom I’ve always considered as a bit of a balloon.

Hi Marco
Absolutely he campaigned for an independent government when the REAL choice for the Scottish people
was an independent COUNTRY , had they been presented with the true choice and the facts about what
that really meant for them and the rest of the world I am sure it would have been a landslide YES.
cheers

I agree. I think he cod have done a better job. the problem is that he is very shellfish and only looks out for himself. Simply trying to mussel in and take over like that was not attractive. Im sure he would whelk on any promises.

I hake to skate the obvious but the sole reason they failed is that Salmon didn't appeal to all groupers. He began to flounder near the end and it became quickly obvious he'd haddock. Even at the beginning he wasn't exactly brill. Oh whelk, eel not be coming back from lish :door:

Brian, Dave, priceless thanks! I think your puns are BRILL and added a little humour in my otherwise BLEAK afternoon. I honestly think that it would be very difficult to BETTA you two. I think this conversation has become a little BARBed. Slamond (sic again, sorry Marco), EEL be sick to the back teeth of these puns but I couldn't care less because I think he's a little GRUNT and very GOBY and with that he decided to JACK in politics. I wouldn't want to be around his PLAICE on a night time it must be quite lonely being the SOLE occupant. I could go on...........
