Right chaps,

We have for sale my 7510 6/4. It has been modded with 4 x 47uF 16V Black Gates and an LM4562MA Op-Amp. (See photo)

Note that the DAC chip was swapped for a Wolfson but it has since been replaced back to the original. Apart from this it is standard spec.
I've got a Maplins PSU available if you want it. It is an improvement for the 7510.

Price all in for the DAC is £125 with the standard PSU or £135 with the Maplin PSU thrown in too. (L11BQ on the Maplin site).

I can ship elsewhere outside of Europe if you want. Pick up from North East of Scotland no problem.

I can't think that many people on this forum would agree with that statement, perhaps DJSR might be an exception!:lol:
Cheers

It's a fine place to visit if you like year round winter.

There's plenty of distilleries close by though........................

Didnt the Wolfson chip work well with the 7510 then?

Yes it did. However, it was before Stan made me aware of the extra wiring that was needed. Putting the Wolfson in improved the sound of course but there was an annoying clicking during replay. The extra wiring required is now well documented by Stan.

The reason I was making folk aware of this is that if they decided to replace the DAC chip themselves then it might be difficult for soldering as the DAC chip has already been in and out before.

From that picture it looks like you have mounted EC4/5 the wrong way 'round

Stan pointed that out to me before too.

Even lower offers accepted!

Right.

As it turns out and I must apologise about the Black Gates. I wasn't aware of this before I put it for sale.

Since the 7510 will need a bit of DIYing and thinking about it there isn't much chance of it being suitable for a DAC chip upgrade I'll let it go for £50 inc. postage with the standard PSU.

Once again apologies if I had mislead anyone. It wasn't meant deliberately.

If I were you I would swap the caps round and do the wire mod. See the TC-7510 thread for some recent pictures. With those mods you'll get a good price on eBay. Just listen to it first:). You might want to keep it after those mods. It will sound like a completely better DAC all round.

Have to agree , it may be a total pain in the arse but I'd even stick the WM8716 back in too, with the other mods including the wiring job it should attract a lot more interest

Thanks Stan & Leo,

I guess I'll have to find a "more suitable" solderer than my previous one then

Tirna Electronics in West Linton, Peeblesshire (your neck of the woods?) seem to have a good reputation for electronic soldering - have you thought of them?
Cheers,

Please don't tell me that they did the original soldering job.:doh:

No. Not at all.

Another forum member had recommended them to me earlier on too.

Hi Trailer,
Thank God for that - Tirna have just completed a soldering job for me, expected back Monday am - I am somewhat re-assured - thanks.
