Woah - I just had a bit of a Proustian rush seeing those tour programmes. I had the Camel 'Moonmadness' one and the Tangerine Dream 'Stratosfear' one as well. I haven't seen them for over 35 years :stalks:

I also had a few Yes programmes which have also been lost along the way. Heady days in school where we discussed whether to go to see Led Zep at Earls Court (too far) or see Lynyrd Skynyrd. I well remember seeing T Dream in 1976 and experiencing sub bass for the first time! Strange days really because that was the last sit down concert I went to for years. Music was on the move then as me and my mates were listening to John Peel - The Dammed 'New Rose' followed followed by Poco 'Rose of Cimmaron' and a bit of reggae.

Great seeing your passion passing down the generations. My daughter is on a Smiths mission at the moment and is buzzing about seeing Johnny Marr... the story continues :)

Thanks for that Simon. The progammes in the picture represent but a few. I have hunted high and low for the others. Great to hear your daughter is carrying things on too. I loved the Smiths. I am a west Coast fan too.

Ah yes. Concert programmes. A little story:

back in 1970 when I was a teenager, a mate asked me if I wanted to go to a concert. At the time I was a little musically naive, being a Shadows fan, and having recently discovered Simon and Garfunkel. The band in question was Free. I hadn't heard of them (!) but it seemed like a good idea so we turned up at what used to be known as the Devonport Social Club, but had been re-named the Van Dike club. Back streets of Plymouth, about the size of the average village hall, with a typical village-hall stage at the end but a very un-village-hall atmosphere that made you feel quite odd after a while. At either end of the stage were two big speaker stacks with "Marshall" written on them, and after a short while the band came on. Shock and Awe! By the end of the gig I was sat on the edge of the stage leaning against one stack, half deaf and completely transported. For a month afterwards, I wanted to BE Paul Rogers....

Over the next few years, I look back and can't quite believe the bands I saw in that place. They used to publish handbills showing forthcoming gigs, and looking back now I find it even harder to believe the bands I missed. This was the place:
