Hi guys,
This is a serious question about supporting a Techie TT in your system which has confused me for a long time. As I understand it the Techie was originally designed as a 'tool' for DJs. In that context it is easy to see why support that would dampen vibrations would be a definite requirement. I visualise that any table or bench etc. on which the Techie would be placed would be subject to vibration from the floor (dancing), a misplaced boot or shoe or a drink thumped down on the same table. In other words the purpose of the Techie feet was mainly to stop vibrations passing from the environment to the Techie.
Nowadays most serious Techiephiles have there TTs placed very firmly and securely on 'proper' tables/supports that are not subject to anything like this sort of vibration. So what are the many and various 'upgrades' to the Techie support mechanism designed to minimise/eliminate? I can imagine mechanical vibrations coming from the motor and drive mechanism and electrical induced vibrations coming from the on-board PSUs (where these are still in place and in use) but am at a loss to understand how any mods to the Techie feet and supports can minimise these.
So where is my logic flawed - what am I getting wrong?
FWIW my support system for my Techie is based on large sorbothane hemispheres but otherwise is now so non-standard/unique that my experience in this area is largely irrelevant to the majority of Techie users.
