Supporting a Techie.

Hi guys,
This is a serious question about supporting a Techie TT in your system which has confused me for a long time. As I understand it the Techie was originally designed as a 'tool' for DJs. In that context it is easy to see why support that would dampen vibrations would be a definite requirement. I visualise that any table or bench etc. on which the Techie would be placed would be subject to vibration from the floor (dancing), a misplaced boot or shoe or a drink thumped down on the same table. In other words the purpose of the Techie feet was mainly to stop vibrations passing from the environment to the Techie.
Nowadays most serious Techiephiles have there TTs placed very firmly and securely on 'proper' tables/supports that are not subject to anything like this sort of vibration. So what are the many and various 'upgrades' to the Techie support mechanism designed to minimise/eliminate? I can imagine mechanical vibrations coming from the motor and drive mechanism and electrical induced vibrations coming from the on-board PSUs (where these are still in place and in use) but am at a loss to understand how any mods to the Techie feet and supports can minimise these.
So where is my logic flawed - what am I getting wrong?
FWIW my support system for my Techie is based on large sorbothane hemispheres but otherwise is now so non-standard/unique that my experience in this area is largely irrelevant to the majority of Techie users.

I started my Tech on a Mana rack as per the LP12.
The more Mana Soundbases under the rack the better and a Reference top also helps
It came with Sorbothane feet, which I will happily sell now as I upgraded to
Isonoe Feet and Techniboots
Did that mostly to increase height for the FR arm and knew there wouldn't be much difference - would there .... ?

Just in case I played with the Sorbothane feet then swapped to the Isonoe
Oh ! - that's a big difference and superb VFM
Techniboots next to give me that extra height
Blow me down, even more improvement and even better value for money

There are so many user reports available that confirm that putting something else under the TT improves the SQ that there must be some truth in it - can't all be down to 'The Emperor's new clothes' syndrome but what's the logic behind the fact? Or is it a case of 'it works, nobody knows why, but do it anyway'?

Sorry, I guess I did not explain myself very well with that phrase. What I was referring to was alternative TT suspension items rather than the feet that were supplied with the TT. In other words, something else other than the supplied feet - I was not referring to something mysterious or not mentioned.

I have seen some pics somewhere on this forum of TTs being wall mounted. I guess that would help a little against foot-fall. Another option is simply mass. So I have a granite slab upon which my TT sits. It is not particularly effective but every little bit helps. Another option came from visiting someone who had a Rega 3 - which have little or no suspension as far as I know. His solution was to put the TT in another room! It worked! It meant a few more steps to change a record, but hey - he was an audiophile so he is allowed to be a bit nuts.

Bad vibes come from lots of sources. The racket / music from the speakers, the stylus itself, the bearing, but above all ambient vibrations in the floor and especially foot-fall. Each of the various vibes are ameliorated differently. To deal with bearing noise, for example, some TTs are designed to eliminate this via a magnetic bearing. In my case by damping the platter. Foot-fall and floor vibes in general are ameliorated by Isonoe Feet. I don't think they do anything to assist with other vibrations.

When in temp living I had to have the LP12 on a wall shelf as heavy breathing would move the floor and the Aro

My sound tests say a Mana rack is better than a Mana wall shelf, plus you can out soundbases under the rack.
