Floorstanders on laminate floors?

My son has just bought his first flat and wants to know how to mount his B&W. CM9's on a laminate floor. Currently they are spiked on carpet in his bedroom.

Advise would be most welcome.

RDC cone cups or something similar.
He does not want to couple his speakers to the laminate floor, as it's a raft.
I found RDC hugely beneficial for cleaning up the sound of the metal domed tweeters on my DM601s years a few years ago.

Alternatively plinths of granite or slate supported by sorbethane feet.

That's almost exactly what I was going to suggest. A work colleague had a similar problem with his hi fi rack and solved it with 4 10p pieces and some felt. Works a treat I'm told. And we all know silver will give a better sound ;)

mines on solid oak which is a bit more forgiving nut I use spikes into cups resting on 1 inch granite plinths

suggested it to a mate who has a laminate floor, and it works just as well for him
