Looks like a rather interesting T/T, and especially arm: http://www.analogueseduction.net/latest-products/funk-firm-flamenca-turntable.html

The Flamenca looks to be superb value for money… I wish Arthur all the best with it. Has anyone heard one yet? :)

Marco.

I have and it's excellent. A little 'quirky' but certainly does the job.

It certainly looks nice, as does its big brother. My question is, is it twice the deck a Project carbon sb is?

Sounds like a pain in the ass to me.

It’s an interesting option though in this price bracket. Sometimes a bit of faff is worth it in the end! :)

Thread drive and thread suspended arm - it all seems very 'Well Tempered' to me!

Similar thoughts here too!
And it's a faff to get the antiskate/VTA correct, which rules out the inexperienced user.

I have heard both this and the bigger Funk LSD. Both class leading sound quality - the LSD is all the turntable most people will need

Believe it or not, I've heard one. More than one (version). The arm is the secret. The quirky drive mechanism of the original nearly sank it. The arm is pure ak genius though. Amazing bass articulation for that price. This was the tt the old git tried to con me on the blind tests against a rega by playing a as b. If he can get a few dealers to stock it...

The vta is only a faff compared with an sl1200. And that's what the bloody dealer gets paid for. We nearly got to fisticuffs about this. "the dealers want plug & play". "For 10% mark up they can have plug & play" was my response. And Funk could sell mail order and cut out dealers. Its worth the faff.
