Whilst the AV32R was intended to be used in a home cinema system as an AV surround processor, they also make a very fine 2 channel stereo remote pre-amp with really nice built in 24 bit DAC.
I used this in my hifi for exactly that with the matching CDT20R transport (which I'm not sure whether I want to part with yet) and it sounded superb. The AV32R was very expensive new (by my standards at least) and this shows in the quality of finish. It's a beautiful machine to look at and use.
I only stopped using it due to acquiring a Nakamichi pre for its built in phono stage.
This particular one is the 96KHz 5.1 model. Later ones had better spec DAC but some of the components in the analogue output stage were not as nice apparently which can make these earlier ones preferable for music use.
Mine has the following advantages:
Fully serviced by independant Tag McLaren specialist prior to my purchase
Latest firmware installed (v3.8)
Fully working display (no lines or bad areas)
Sorbothane feet are in good condition
Supplied with original remote (see condition notes below)
All connectors in good condition
Functional Condition:
Fully working with no known issues. The remote is starting to need a firm press on the most used controls but still works. They are notorious for this and can either be cleaned internally or a new one obtained from IAG or they regularly appear on ebay.
Cosmetic Condition:
As you can see below, it's in very good condition. There are a couple of small marks on the back edge of the top casing but the fascia is excellent.
I would like £320 for it.
I would very much prefer this to be collected from Bicester where I'll be happy to demo it to prospective buyers as well as provide cups of tea. I will consider postage at cost and shared risk.
