Worst Hi-Fi name ever?

Can you believe this? A company naming a hi-fi product costing some $5k 'MP-3' It's true, check it out - http://www.atma-sphere.com/Products/#MP-3
This ranks up there with Sean Lamb, Norma Stitts, and Wayne Kerr.

Not the last word in hifi for sure but Amstrad played a very important role in the fledgling home computer industry in the early 1980's with its multi-million selling CPC464. For £299.99 you got a two box computer comprising a colour monitor and cpu/keyboard/tape deck module (for an extra 50 quid you could have the disk drive equipped CPC664) which was unheard of at its price point. As well as being a capable home PC of the era it was reliable too. AMSBasic was pretty much a port of Acorns BBC Basic which meant kids who used the BBC machine at school could have a computer at home which had a familiar feel to the BBC machine without the hefty price tag.

Ah, 1980s computers - I remember them with much affection…. Sinclair ZX-81, Commodore Vic-20, 64 and Acorn BBC Model B, (with many games to match), all graced this (then) teenager’s bedroom ‘back in the day’ :)

Back in about 1980/81 I had left JVC and I was designing for a couple of speaker companies. I demoed the first pair to some industry colleagues who liked them and asked what they were called I said it would be a combination of their company plus mine, which at the time was Stewart Audio Developments, one of the guys from RAM pointed out that the acronym would be SAD, so we dropped that idea :lol: These weren't for RAM, so it was good of him to point it out.

It's all beginning to Gel: When Gaylord Fokker told his missus he was no big Spendor she said Schiit and decrapified him by kicking him in the NADs. He can no longer get Valek.
