Just ordered one of these kits to appease my inner bluesman. Looks like a fun and cheap diy project for a wet weekend.

About 30usd, so not bad. Preparing for the inevitable customs charge but then I just take that as granted on so many things these days.

So here it is. What a fun couple of hours it was putting this thing together.

I've been 'sliding' all week hence I've not been on here much. I've got it tuned to open G and fitted a piezo pickup inside the box and a jack so I can run this through my amp. Sounds fab with a bluesy distortion pedal built by my good friend 'No Dice Effects'.

The pickup is a little hot so I use a compressor to stop it feeding back and looking to set it in with a hot glue gun and maybe put something underneath it for a little dampening.

Anyway I'd recommend one of these kits. If a klutz like me can make a decent job of it and get a tune or two out of it then anyone can. I'm now on the hunt for old cigar boxes and pieces of maple, ash or mahogany to make one from scratch and can see a hobby/obsession forming.
