For sale is my lovely condition Thorens TD125 MkII T/T complete with an excellent SME 3009 S2 non-improved tonearm with the RCA conversion kit fitted.

The tonearm is the metal knife edge bearing version and comes complete with original lead (plus a better quality spare), and an original SME headshell (plus a spare) and is in excellent cosmetic and working condition. This is considered to be the best version of the SME 3009 arm, as it can be successfully used with a far wider range of cartridges (2 - 20 gms) than either the improved or S3.
The T/T itself is in lovely condition, is 100% functionally correct, absolutely silent in operation and speed stable at all 3 speeds with the adjustment set in the middle of the range. It also comes with a spare wooden Rega drilled armboard and a lovely looking custom lid which has only a few light scratches.
I really wouldn't want to trust this heavy fragile deck to couriers, so it will need to be collected from the Luton, (J10, M1) area.
Asking for £400 for this lovely deck.
Thanks for looking.
How much are you asking Mike?

Thanks Grant. When you consider the arms go for a minimum of £250 on their own I think it's pretty good value for a classic deck / arm combo.
Looks better in the flesh too.
Did you ever sell it mike?
Yes, it did sell.
To avoid posting, there has been a kind of "mates courier chain" put together. I believe it is in Yorkshire at the moment. Once it gets to me in Lancs, Im taking it up to Scotland to the new owner.
Coming to a place near me....I wonder who? ...lovely deck; the new owner will be chuffed.

Rick,
Just noticed your H2's in your signature, that makes 2 pairs that has left these shores down south,
i sold my light Oak Impulse H2's to a nice chap when i hit the skids in 2008, :( he picked them up when he was up on business.

I might be wrong, but I think that deck is currently in Huddersfield, en route to Leeds, and then on to Lancs before heading North later. It's complicated. Made even more complicated today by the fact that the Leeds section of the trip has been compromised. I'll get in touch with the owner and offer to look after it for him. I'm very kind like that.:eyebrows:

I seem to remember you were involved in the sale thread on mine, Andy. It's a mighty small world on the interwebs mate.

cheeky *&^% :spank: I'll have you know I've only owned 2 amps in the past year - I'm slowing weaning myself off the box swapping merry-go-round. Still got the same speakers though, they'll be good for a loooong while. If you get the chance, get a listen to a Luxman L550A-II with the H2's as it's stunning with the Ta'us :wowzer:

I was lusting after Alan's on PFM Stu, but looked at the rack and used my head a bit. Tell you what though, they sound pretty flippin ace on both the Gamma 211, and Graaf 13.5/Usher 1.5 combo.
BTW, I insist on dibs if those Taus go anywhere.

I've already got a TD125 but the plinth on mine is a bit of a disaster and the cover isn't great ... this'll give me another arm to try out against my souped up RB250 and Jelco 750. You can never have too many arms.

Good idea, use the tatty deck as a donor deck if and when you needs parts. :)
Tell me about it regarding too many arms, always said to myself to slim down my collection but never been able to do it,
too attached to my 2 Alpha HR100's (love them to bits), can't let my Stogi go either and am using a SME which i like,
couple of Audio Technica kicking about too, got a cheek to be on the look out for a Breuer too.
Here Brian, that there Yorkshire meet has been cancelled mate. Is there a plan B set up?
Rick, yes I saw that.
Im going to send a few PMs today to see if we can juggle it.
Hopefully it can be taken to the new Bake Off and collected from there. Then back over here(ish).
