I am a new member and was attracted by the thread on Koestsu Black K cartridge in May when I joined.

Have not been able to find it. Does not matter as at the moment I am using Dynavector XX-1, and will have the Koestsu re-tipped by Stylus Expert in due course.

I only listen to vinyl. Very intersted to read all the stuff in various discussions on LP12 etc etc.

Best wishes to everyone.

PS- I am presently working in Liverpool

Thanks a lot Mike,

I was going to say about the Koetsu and agree with some one on one of the threads suggesting that the Koetsu's have a different sound-although there was a talk that that has changed in the more recent cartridges.

Unmistakably dark and on the lush side. Stylus expert do a marvellous job. They have told me that often the cartridges from 'big names' have flawed workman ship especially when it comes to the diamond tip. Anyway my Koetsu once re-tipped sounded 'neutral' in its characteristsics, which was preferable to me.

Would you mind putting your first name in to your signature and a basic location in the section for that ? Thank you in advance.

What sort of system do you use ? and what sort of music do you like ? Would you like to put some photos in the Gallery ? Sorry interrogation over ;):)

Would you mind putting your fist name in to your signature and a basic location in that section ?

...........and if you haven't got a fist name, then your first name will do just fine............unless you're called knuckles!!!

Hi & welcome from another Koetsu Black owner (I'm on my third!)

Thank you Grand Wazoo and Chris,

I will get round to following your instructions.

Firstly, I appreciate that there are some very senior figures in the forum (I mean those who would have had LP12s in the late 70s and early 80s as I did. That is good to know.

I listen to a wide variety but in terms of proportion of LPs, Classical dominates and that is what has influenced my choice of the HI-FI components.

TT:- VPI TNT HRV- JME 12.5 arm Dynavector XX-1
Amplification: all Plinius (Phono Pre-amp M14, Line Level Pre-CD-LAD and Class A 250W power amp.
Speakers: B&W 803.
All interconects are Siltech Silver.
Power Cords and speaker cable by Missing Link.

As for photogallery- I will see if I get time to get round doing that.

I was expecting to hear from Chris about the Koetsu image I placed. The goldline along the edge of the bottom plate, I presume is what gave it its name-Goldline. Although the name has stuck the new Koetsu Black has the bottom plate painted in Gold.

Mine was purchased from KJ Leisure sound a very long time ago. I suspect the cantilever or suspension is damaged so repairs may prove expensive.
