Typically after humming and hahing about getting a RCM and finally deciding that it's high time I got one, I'm having trouble sourcing an Okki Nokki. I've e-mailed around and it seems they're out of stock. Does anyone know of any units out there?

The Moth and VPI machines are around the same price , just as noisy both are available on that bay :)

Not sure about the Moth. If they all do an equally good job I'd prefer the look of the Okki in my house ;)

Hmm - might have to go on Ebay then. Shame as I'd like to give business to a bricks and mortar emporium. I could wait for new stock to arrive but I'm impatient :)

Moth is a bit uglier but let's face it neither will win points in an ideal home exhibition and the Moth is a better implementation IMO.

Another machine maybe to look at is the VPI 16.5 RCM £600. I have one and it is very good indeed and certainly built to last.

+1 so did I and mine is very quiet and has never let me down
A Friend of mine also has one but this cuts out at the drop of a hat and is noisy, its strange how there is such variation in quality of the same product?, Im glad I god a good one

I have a Clearaudio Smart Matrix RCM, from which the Okki Nokki is derived - it has an integral lid and generally better looks and finish. It's not exactly quiet, but certainly bearable for short periods of use. Like the Okki Nokki, it's easy to recommend, being boringly effective and only requiring replacement velour strips on the sucky arm thing every so often.

It gets used so rarely nowadays that I should really sell it to liberate a bit of space.

I think Scott may have one. Worth a try.

Don't they all say CAN BE SHIPPED IN 7 DAYS ?

Probably, but I spoke to him a few days ago about possibly getting one myself, and he said he usually has a couple in stock. I didn't ask specifically if he did have one in stock, but I have done a fair bit of business with him and he's a decent bloke.
Still worth a phone call.

Thanks for all the replies guys. A knight in shining armour has sorted me out with a cancelled order ... and it's in WHITE :).

It's taken me so long to get myself sorted with a RCM. Let's face it a new amp or cartridge is so much sexier to shell out for but deep down I knew I was putting the cart (no pun intended) before the horse.

Now I can obsess about cleaning regimes now!

My advice re cleaning is let the fluid soak for a few mins before vacuuming off , its a bit like Weetabix, sets like cement but after a quick soak it comes off easy :)
