View Full Version : Wow, just got a vintage white/black Shure M44-7 with NOS stylus

Hi, Allo !

The white/black body M44 with the silver Shure label were the first one made by Shure and it shows.

Hard explain but they have smooth special sound with low distortion and the bass is not fat like the new one made in Mexico.

My first language is french so I am not too good at explaining such things.

You have to hear one to know what I mean ...

Hi Jean,

That doesn't surprise me at all.There seems to be a massive gulf between Shure carts that were made pre Mexico and post Mexico! I use a US made Shure SC35C and have had a modern (Mexico made) one.There is simply no comparison between the two!
