Knowledge-seeking newcomer.

Hi - this site is a goldmine.
I bought some ditton 66's in 1989 for £140 and spent a few years wondering if I'd been ripped off. They've seen a selection of kit driving them but I have done nothing with them, apart from listen to them since.
I've just brought them out of a 2 year hibernation (decorating related - not a subject to dwell on) and having checked some of the threads on here I'm feeling a bit like Dr Mengele for the way they've been treated since 1989.
I've decided they need some TLC.
Please can I ask some (almost certainly childishly simple) questions of the '66' owners on here?
The rest of the stuff attached to them is also getting on and not bleeding edge but I still like the sound it makes ...
Audiolab 8000A amp
Systemdek turntable with Linn arm / AT cartridge
Nakamichi RC202 tape (I had a large tape collection ..)
Sony CDP228esd CD.
total system age - about 138 years now I add it all up.

My primary concern is the dittons though

Mainly 80s stuff I'm afraid. My formative years musically were the 80's. Not very cool I know ...
I saw Simple Minds live at the CarFest a week or two ago & crossed one off my bucket list.
As a result my system doesn't need to be 'hyper-accurate' are have perfect flat response curves, I loved the sound of it until recently - hence my request for help ...

Nothing wrong with the gear you mentioned,new and expensive doesnt always mean its best
Still have a large tape collection myself,grew up in the 80's,was the only way I could get music on a non-existant schoolboy budget!
