Is anyone on here using a pair of the mighty Klipschorns ? or maybe La Scalas or maybe Klipsch Belle's ???
Come on there must be at least 1 person here using them ??
If so what are you using to drive them ?

Yes Darren it seems such a shame to me that nobody else has given the Klipsch Heritage range a try.... I would put the Klipsch 'classic' sound against any decent Tannoy DC or Electrostat... even though, as mentioned here on the forum, I wouln't mind trying an ESL again but I don't think my room is very well suited to ESL's...
I can't understand the aversion to horn speakers... I think it is from people who have NEVER actually tried a decent horn speaker...
It has taken literally years for me to become completely happy with my 'type' of speaker, and APART from a pair of ESL's, Klipsch horns have it as far as I am concerned...
If people can get over their 'in built' dislike for horns I think a lot of them would really enjoy them...
However it might be because a new set of Klipsch Heritage range speakers are rather expensive... from about £1.5K upwards..

Well Bev, I love the sound of big horns.... I used to be a Klipsch dealer about a thousand years ago. I sold a pair of the Mk 1 Heresys to Nick Faldo, he had a really old house that had been a village hall, the sound was amazing. I have used many great horn speakers, including La Scalas and Klipschorns nothing is as exciting, yes they are coloured but the dynamics are amazing. I worked with Phil Jones of AE, Boston Acoustics and Pure Sound fame. We put together a PA system that was six way all horn, from 24" sub bass to Altec multi cell horns and JBL bullets at the top, it was awesome, always loved horns

I am thinking of a pair of the mighty K'horns.... however the wall they would have to fill is about 3m (bout 10'ft) do you think that is just too small a wall to accomodate the K'horns... ??

Hi Paul the room measures:::: 3m x 3m approx.... I have a suspicion that the K'horns would be too much for the room...
The Heresys seem to sing tho... It's just that I have a craving for a pair of K'horns...
However if you think my room is just too small then I will happily stick to the Heresys..
What did you think of the Heresy's when you had dealings with them?? You have obviously had experience of them ??

I love the Heresy sound, it's just so dynamic. I think you may have a bit of trouble with K'horns in such a small square room If it was me I would stick with what you have. If you really want some thing bigger, try a pair of La Scalas

Thanks for your comments... you may well be correct in keeping with the Heresys rather than moving up to a crazy pair of K'horns....
The La Scalas would probably be more tricky to fit in than the K'horns as I don't think they work well in corners as do the K'horns...
Maybe just stick with the Heresy's though.... I do love them to bits... !!!! :D

It's such a shame that more people won't even take a listen to ANY Klipsch, but I would highly recommend the Heritage range::: Heresy, Cornwall, La Scala and of course the mighty Klipschorn..
I have been totally blown away with a pair of La Scalas and I am quite sure the mighty K'horn would do the same, just 'more so'
However within the size of my hifi room I really don't think I will better the Heresy's...... It's kind of like a Klipschorn in miniature.... unless anyone has any other suggestion for a dynamic/real sounding speaker to work within the confines of a 10' x 10' room..... love to hear from you !!!

Oh as an ideal the speaker would have to be sensitive enough to like having 8watts of Audio Note Oto SE feeding them... ;)

I think it is a shame that there are not more peeps using Klipsch, it's unfortunate.. as I am sure some would love them but I know they are rare here in the UK ;)
I have a pair of 1977 La Scalas rescued from a closed up dance hall. Refinished in black and with aftermarket crossovers (ALK Engineering) they are wonderful with my Shindo and McIntosh amps. The room is a mere 12 X 14 and they fill it in more ways than one.
My friend had a 45 tube amp he used with his pair of La Scalas....all 3/4 of a watt per side.....they sounded wonderful.
I had the Heresys once.....great, but if you have the money and the room (see above) get the La Scalas...just get the La Scalas.

I'd love a pair of La Scala's but unfortunately don't have the room for them.. I heard them once with a 300b amp, that was falling to bits, but they still sounded superb, the best speakers I have ever listened to
I will stick with the Heresy's for the foreseeable future as I love them, and they fit well in my room.. ;)

That's the problem Shane there are so few Klipsch Heritage speakers in the UK... However if you ever get the chance to get a pair I would highly recommend them.. I love my Heresy's. They are one of only two speakers that I would own twice.. !!

They look really nice but I will be sticking with the Heresy's for a while yet... :)
Greatest rummage sale find of all time by a young friend of mine.....a pair of Forte IIs for $25!! He called me when he spotted them and I told him to check the driver surrounds and the finish; he said "Looks good" and I said buy them now before the people change their minds!! In his car and home in twenty minutes; we had them set up and playing in another ten....sweet!
Bringing the thread another few years forward to add to the Klipsch crowd, group, couple folks talking over years..........own Belles, Cornwall's, Forte II, and Quartets. The latter two being happily abused by my sons.
I bought a pair of Forte II speakers in fair shape for a friend! I owed him $99 for some band equipment we traded, and I saw these speakers, and bought them, hoping he wouldn't really want them, but he did, and wow do they sound amazing with a high powered solid state amp, (he has an old refurbed 100 watt Adcom) tremendous sound in a smallish room. He wound up buying new Klipsch speakers for his living room, some of their newer design with the copper dish woofers and a horn loaded tweeter at the top, an RF35 maybe? They sounded quite amazing as his surround sound front speakers. Still do after 15 years. I've always wanted some Bell's or Scalla's, I've thought of making my own even, but think they would be big in a 3Mx3M room.
