Hi All,

I recently joined the forum, primarily to seek advice on how best to modify my Technics 1210. I have been lurking the forum for a while now and the Technics knowledge base is impressive.

I have owned various Technics decks for over 20 years, coming from a DJ background. I enjoy a wide range of music but my main interest is electronica, soul, disco, funk, Jazz, dub reggae, psychedelia, some conscious hip hop as well as pop and rock - Mazzy Star, Radiohead, Jah Wobble, Santana, Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd etc.

My current system is a 1210 + Stanton 680el, Yamaha CDS700 into a Musical Fidelity XDAC V8, Marantz KI Pearl Lite amplifier into Kef Q500 speakers (soon to be replaced with Proac D18's).

I am looking to improve the quality of my vinyl playback (I am quite happy with my CD/DAC performance).

I look forward to contributing to the forum.

Cheers

Mark

Welcome to the forum Mark. Plenty of Techie fanboys here, so you'll get plenty good advice....sorry for the delay in answering your welcome but a lot of the mods have been at a get together yesterday and will be knackered.

Hello Markx,
Greetings and Salutations from the Antipodes.
I can confirm you have come to the right place for the SL1200. Take your time in the Techiepedia - lots of goodies there.
PS Your first name isn't Karl is it?

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've already started a thread over on Techiepedia seeking guidance on arm replacement. Probably not the best time of the day to start a thread but will hopefully generate some replies tomorrow. Cheers Mark
