WTD: Linn LP12 Lid Hinges

Anyone have a set they want to sell? I have the back plates already just hinges needed. I don't really want to be spending near on £25 from the bay :eek:

tbh posting two used hinges for half new price plus p&p from Austria/Europe to GB will help you none pricewise, else I would have offered a pair …
… picking them up from a local dealer will be your best option

Before you go to the lengths of finding Linn hinges, I'd make sure that they'll be OK with your new lid. Do you still have the other TT2? The linn hinges are very sensitive to weight and they don't have any adjustment, so if your lid is any heavier than the original, and I'd guess that it is, then they may not hold it open.

The original sprung hinges had brown coloured springs, which couldn't take the weight of later Linn lids, which were extremely well made but heavy!. Later hinges had shiny hinge springs which took the weight, but were inclined to eat the plastics used after some years. Good luck with the hunt :)

to be honest (and I understand not a popular retailer on some forums) I just bit the bullet and ordered a pair from Russ Andrews when mine went with the typical cracked plastic on the hinge, to be honest with what I spend on music a minor ripple in my budget

I fully accept that all are not so lucky with available funds as I've been there myself so good luck with your hunt

I probably will but as I've spent a fair few quid lately refurbishing my TT2 buying a firebottle plus and numerous vinyls I thought I'd keep the wife happy and try a bit of penny pinching :lol:

If you don't want to spend with Russ then Rococo Systems, Essex sold me two full hinge sets for just short of £20 plus P&P. I thought they were reasonable value mind and didn't quibble.

It looks like this is the standard price everywhere. I think I may bite the bullet and just buy them :rolleyes:
