Can anyone recommend an Unshielded interconnect. If anyone has a second hand one they want to sell I may be interested, looking for 1.5 metres.

Townshend Isolda are unscreened (at least mine were) and come in various lengths. Decent cable.

These are pretty good IMO http://www.mains-cables-r-us.co.uk/analogue-interconnects-/596-black-rhodium-twist-stereo-interconnects.html

Why don't you make your own? Needn't be expensive.

True and you won't have to leave the shield disconnected

+1 on that. I have made my own and it is blindingly easy. This is what I did:

Purchase:
- 4x Furutech FT-111G (about £50)
- 6 meters of 24 AWG audiophile grade silver (about £40)
- 6 meters of teflon tubing, say about 2 mm internal diameter (about £1)

Points to Note:
- You will need no solder as these are connected via set-screw.
- Although unshielded you can twist them gently.

Sound quality:
Look up Oyaide AZ-910, Oyaide's best interconnect. It retails for over US$800 for a 1.3 meter pair. This is what my home-brew replaced. They are a crystal clear step up from the Oyaide AZ-910. Why are they better? can't say for sure but I put it down to the Furutech RCA plugs. They bettered Xhadow and Oyaide's plugs that I used in former attempts.

No I don't have a build blog. It truly is very simple. The only tool you need is a small screwdriver. You don't even need tools like a vice or 'third hand'.
If interested I could put up a few pics over the weekend.
