Some time ago ( in the last 6 or so months) in a B/F thread I read (sorry - no idea what it was) you (Stan) said that you might have a mod for older dacs, but you did not elaborate any further. Did you ever tell us what it is/was?

Rob , if you can , try Stans ASYNCH-1 USB to SPDIF converter on your DAC . It's a fantastic piece of kit . It provided me with a big upgrade on my Rega DAC and may be just what you're looking for . I'm sure Stan will be along to let you know if it's a suitable upgrade path for you .

Well worth a try Rob . Gary brought one over to mine for a listen and it stayed in my system .

I showed the Venom 3 and 4 mods for the Bushmaster MKI. I also have a new firmware that mimics the same settings as the BM MKII.

I haven't gone earlier than that, like the TC-7520 etc. I get less than a handful of enquiries for those kind of mods on a yearly basis. So I have packed away and even sold some of my own modded units.

Is it any particular model that you would like some mods for?

The antiquated old 7510:D

Ah well. it sounds good (enough) to my battered ears.

Well if your fingers are itching due to lack of soldering action, I can have a look and see if I got any Bushmaster MKI left that you can get your teeth in modification wise.
