At 10 pm tonight as part of the beginning of WW1 (100 years anniversary) commemoration - the attack on Belgium and the UK entering the war at 10pm - folks around the UK are being encouraged to switch their lights off at home to mark this sad event.
I for one will be doing this, the least I can do to mark this sad milestone.
Regards Neil
Lights off at ten I believe.

Yes Dave you are right. I looked at a news item earlier today and I must have read it wrongly.

Can't turn all the lights off but there will be a candle burning in the listening room for an hour from 10pm...

Wilfred Gibson (1878-1962)
"Back"
They ask me where I've been,
And what I've done and seen.
But what can I reply
Who know it wasn't I,
But someone just like me,
Who went across the sea
And with my head and hands
Killed men in foreign lands...
Though I must bear the blame,
Because he bore my name.
