Hmm Deja vu... I'm sure I remember posting an identical ad 6 months ago

Anyway, I'm in need of a cheap cartridge for playing unclean charity shop finds... Was going to put £30 on an AT95e but thought I'd check here first. If you have anything suitable that has good usable life left I'd be interested :)

Could do but isn't it just an AT-91 with carbon cantilever ? I've got a [possibly very wrong] feeling the £4 more expensive AT-95e is superior.

Many thanks for the offer Alan but it won't fit in the Sony headshell [got a G820 with the same problem!] they're just too deep.

Get yourself one of these. You will be astonished how good a £40 cart can be!

I got one as a stopgap until I can afford to get my Denon 304 repaired. Let's just say I'm no longer in any hurry to do so.

Surely the answer is in your statement: "I'm sure I remember posting an identical ad 6 months ago", a Shure!

Playing grotty records, a robust Shure M75/6.

The G800 and 820 are great in good nick and in the right higher mass arm, but may show wear and nassssty sibilance if provoked IME. The AT91/Carbon (I only know the Carbon and the diamond quality is very good and better than the rougher G800 on my proper microscope) has a lovely tone on mid bass to mid-midrange and for me, is very forgiving in the treble. The AT95e will work in practically anything at a smidge under 2g and given half a chance, will get better with the turntable system it's mounted on I've found.

M75-6S? Shure (), but it's a bit of a nail though.....

lol, in my view no more of a nail than a G800. I still have both.

The 75/6 does well on worn records.
