Welcome to AoS Andy.
We are always interested in 'value for money' interconnects here on AoS, and I am interested in DIY cables (I often make up my own). So we would be interested in learning more about your own DIY cables. Are your "double shielded" cables triaxial type, where the two shields are electrically separate, or are the two shields in contact with one another?
Welcome again - enjoy the Forum.

Barry,
The shielding was on top of each other, one was a foil screen, the other was braided. I had pretty good continuity between the two.
I mainly try and make audio cables, mains cable I tend to buy pre made cable and only attach plugs etc myself.
All mains cables are PAT tested and Megger tested before use!
