Good evening Art of Sound,

As per instructions, here's my intro....

I am currently undergoing my hifi renaissance. Having built up a budget Pioneer/Phillips/Technics -> Pioneer -> Monitor Audio setup in my teenage years, which followed me through studies and slowly dwindled as I relied increasingly on digital music (ripped CDs mainly, I have never taken to downloading).

And now I am back. My vinyl is being dusted off, and I am back rummaging through records stores like it's 1984 all over again! I have borrowed some stuff to get me moving, and have started picking up my own gear...

Townshend Rock Reference, SME V, Tranfiguration AF-1 (borrowed)
Rega Aria
Sugden Bijou CDMaster
Naim Nait XS 2
Celestion A3s (borrowed)

Currently looking to pick up a baby Rock (from a member here), and perhaps some B&W speakers based on what I have heard so far, but open to suggestions.

My musical tastes are too varied to accurately reflect in a single post. To give context, I have just taken Teardrop Explodes’ Kilimanjaro off the deck as I sit here, and the last record I bought was Hamp, by Lionel Hampton, at the weekend. But my music collection also includes a healthy dose of classical music and rock standards, new wave and electronic. I even have the odd bit of pop and rap...

Best regards, David

Barry

Welcome to AoS David,

Wow - that's some interesting gear you have put together. :) We would love to see some images.

Your tastes in music are commendably broad; you will fit in well here.

Enjoy the Forum

Thanks for the welcome. I will try to get around to pictures, although more photogenic are the QuickSilver V4 mono blocks the Naim has replaced... but I decided valves weren't for me right now...
